Please check back for information regarding volunteer applications for 2020 Folks Festival. After carefully reading through this page, proceed to the new online volunteer application via the “Volunteer Sign-Up” button below. Thank you for your interest! Volunteers are the BEST!
Volunteers represent Planet Bluegrass to thousands of Festivarians. If the thought of remaining sober during your shifts bums you out, volunteering is not for you. If greeting and helping Festivarians does seem like something you want to do, then we would love to have you be a part of our team!
For 2019, we’re excited to introduce a new online volunteer application process which will allow you to access all your volunteer information online, including the status of your application and your shift schedule. To help us insure a full volunteer team, this year we’re also requiring everyone to buy a reimbursable ticket in order to volunteer. (This ticket will be reimbursed after you fulfill your volunteer duties.) We appreciate your understanding of this new requirement, and as always, we welcome your feedback on the new volunteer process.

- Must be available to work each day of the festival. You will be assigned three 4-hour shifts (approximately 12 hrs total), in exchange for a 3-Day Festival Pass. Each volunteer will be assigned a morning, afternoon, and evening/closing shift. There are a few positions Thursday before the festival. Please see location descriptions above for more details.
- Only completed and confirmed applications will be considered.
- Required payments of a non-refundable processing fee of $15 and a refundable ticket deposit (which will be refunded after completion of all volunteer shifts).
Camping is NOT included, but we will have several camping areas available. You can purchase camping passes over the phone (800-624-2422) or via shop.bluegrass.com if they are still available.
Children may not accompany you during your volunteer shifts. We need your full attention during your scheduled volunteer shifts. Of course, they are welcome to join you at the festival and in the campgrounds (if you have purchased camping).
We’ll make every effort to schedule you around your favorite band, but we can’t guarantee it. Please note on your application the one band that you can’t miss (if there is one).
We will do our best to make sure you volunteer with your friends. There is a feature on festiVOL to link you with your friends. It is easier to accommodate working with one friend than it is with a group of friends. It is also helpful if you and your friend request to work together in the same location.
