Volunteer applications for the 2020 Folks Festival will be available January 10th, 2020. After carefully reading through this page, proceed to the online volunteer application via the “Volunteer Sign-Up” button below. Thank you for your interest! We have the BEST volunteers on the Planet!
Volunteers represent Planet Bluegrass to thousands of Festivarians. If the thought of remaining sober during your shifts bums you out, volunteering is not for you. If greeting and helping Festivarians does seem like something you want to do, then we would love to have you be a part of our team!
We’re excited to continue using festiVOL, the online volunteer application tool which allows you to access all of your volunteer information online including the status of your application and your shift schedule. To help us ensure a full volunteer team, we’re requiring a reimbursable ticket deposit in order to volunteer. (This deposit will be refunded after you fulfill your volunteer duties.) We appreciate your understanding of this requirement, and as always, we welcome your feedback on the volunteer process.

Frequently Asked Questions
Camping is NOT included, but we will have several camping areas available. You can purchase camping passes over the phone (800-624-2422) or via shop.bluegrass.com if they are still available.
Children may not accompany you during your volunteer shifts. We need your full attention during your scheduled volunteer shifts. Of course, they are welcome to join you at the festival and in the campgrounds (if you have purchased camping).
We’ll make every effort to schedule you around your favorite band, but we can’t guarantee it. Please note on your application the one band that you can’t miss (if there is one).
We will do our best to make sure you volunteer with your friends. There is a feature on festiVOL to link you with your friends. It is easier to accommodate working with one friend than it is with a group of friends. It is also helpful if you and your friend request to work together in the same location.
