What We Do

Reuse Plates

The most effective way to reduce waste is to not create it in the first place. Making a new product requires a lot of materials and energy - raw materials must be extracted from the earth, and the product must be fabricated then transported to wherever it will be sold. As a result, reduction and reuse are the most effective ways you can save natural resources, protect the environment and save money.

Solar Panels - wildflower

Generate Clean Energy

In 2014, we received support from Sunsense Solar and Keen Footwear to install a solar panel array on the roof of the Wildflower Pavilion. This is the largest solar project in Lyons to date, and the first Lyons project to utilize net metering to feed excess power back into the grid.

We’ve all heard the statistics: American consumers are drinking more bottled water every year and spending more money doing it because they think it’s safer. In reality, most bottled water is no cleaner, safer or healthier than tap water.

Donate Our Leftover Food

As sustainable Festivarians, we are proud stewards of the Earth. But sustainable festivation is not limited to taking care of the planet - it also means taking care of our communities! In 2017, we began donating leftover food from our festival catering and vendors to local food banks.
