The idea probably hit Steve Savage while standing on top of a Colorado 14’er or while traveling across the rolling plains of Kansas where he went to College. The Boulder Medical Center was founded in 1949 by ten doctors who wanted their patients to have access to a wide spectrum of primary and specialty care under one roof. Preston Thompson Guitars started in 2013 by Preston Thompson and a small crew of builders. We were thrilled when Rocky Grass reached and asked us to provide their Flatpick Competition prize guitar. To partner with Planet Bluegrass, a legendary institution that has supported so many musicians, is a source of pride for us. Our company thrives to put out a custom, handcrafted product with a 1930’s vintage sound. We spend quality time voicing our tops and build a guitar that is light and lively.
