Located about four miles from the Festival grounds, Lawson Hill offers two vehicle-based camping options: Upper Lawson Vehicle Camping and Lawson Hill RV Camping.
Both are located in the Lawson Hill area, but they have different locations, vehicle size limits, and pass requirements. Be sure to choose the option that matches your setup.
Upper Lawson Vehicle
Upper Lawson is a convenient option for Festivarians who prefer sleeping in their vehicle while staying close to Telluride. Some areas offer shade, and getting into town is easy by bike, trail, or shuttle.
Campground Information
This campground opens on Tuesday, June 15 at 8am and closes on Monday, June 21 at noon.
Location: Four miles from Telluride Town Park, next to Lawson Hill Campground off Greenfields Lane, Telluride, CO 81435
Festival Access: Bike the paved path, walk the Valley Floor or River Trail into town, or take the free Festival shuttle, which runs approximately every 15 minutes.
Facilities: Potable water for filling, porta potties, and cash showers. There are no sewer, electrical, or water hookups for vehicles.
Quiet Hours: 2am–7am
Festival Passes and Vehicle Camping
- Upper Lawson Vehicle Pass required for each vehicle
- 4-Day Festival Pass required for each camper
- Maximum vehicle length: 20 feet
- No sleeping tents; shade tents are allowed as space permits
- Sites are on pavement and assigned first come, first served
- Trailers must be parked in the campsite; tow vehicles park separately
Lawson Hill RV
For Festivarians bringing a larger RV. This campground is located in a separate area of Lawson Hill above the Ball Fields. Please note that we offer a very limited amount of these passes due to space constraints.

Campground Rules
- All persons (ages 13+) must have a 4-day Festival Pass.
- No pets are allowed.
- No open fires.
- No drones.
- Use of provided compost, recycle, and landfill receptacles is required.
